The Sweney Room - Catching up to the Sara Black Room

If we could compare the guest rooms in the main house to a horse race the trifecta of paranormal activity would definitely be the Sara Black room ,the McFarlene room and the Sweney room.. That being said the Sweney room is certainly rounding the bend and getting ready to take the lead..

On Wednesday we had a group of 3 paranormal investigators from California. They occupied the black, Schultz and Sweney rooms. The woman in the Black room had an awesome video from 4 am that she shared with me and hopefully I can share it with you soon. On Thursday I was cleaning guest rooms and some people were doing a house tour. They asked if they could come in and look at the room. I said sure and the gentleman started taking pictures . In every photo there was at least one orb on the bed. This was the Sweney room. The next day a gentleman was checking out and he mentioned that his bed was vibrating at 4 am. You guessed it I grabbed the room key and dashed up the stairs as fast as my feet could carry me. I started snapping pictures not even worrying about the unmade bed. Check out the headboard!!! Vibrating bed??  I understand why...awesome,awesome,awesome. We have a spirit cat here who is VERY well known among our guests. Some will hear purring, some will feel something rubbing against there leg and some willwill feel something jump on there bed. If you look you can see his face, his body and his tail....Just great!!

Jim - The History Guy, The Paranormal Guy, The All Around Great Guy

Jim is one of our resident authority's on the history of the house, civil war history and the spirits that reside here...I could listen to him read  the phone book. The other day he sent me this photo and below you will find his description...

A couple of summers ago some friends from Mason Dixon Paranormal and I were out at Sachs Bridge. That place is generally associated with the Confederate retreat and the 3 Confederates hung there. But they believe there is a Union soldier buried out there near the parking lot. One of the investigators was using the divining rods to locate the grave and later I took this picture in the same area.

 

The original picture was in color, but  making it black and white brought out the full body apparition on the right.

My Soldier

I was out on the grove which is across from the Farnsworth House Inn. I was doing some investigating with my 14 year old daughter and she had the k-2 meter in her hand. It was spiking up to red and Jim said ask some questions. She did not inherit my big mouth (shes pretty Shy) so I simply said "If their are any soldiers who died during the battle here right now I want to thank you for your service" Her K-2 meter shot up to red. I started snapping pictures. I didn't think much of it . I was working alot and finally two days later I had time to sit down and start going through pictures. Well I almost fell off my chair. There was a face in my photo and when I lightened it up I could see the full body of a soldier!!! I have been telling everyone that next to the birth of my children and getting married seeing this photo was one of the most exciting things to ever happen to me.  Knowing that all I had to do was express my thanks and this soldier showed himself to me. This may sound incredibly hokey,,(I'm willing to risk that) I'm so honored and I haven't been the same since I saw this picture.!!

Paranormal Night Part Two - WALTER

So..to continue the saga of Paranormal Night. We were up in the attic and I suggested we turn the lights off. I was sitting on the back bench next to a woman who was staying in the Jeremy room. To give you a little back story. Walter was a Confederate Sharpshooter who was killed on the balcony of the Farnsworth House ..that balcony is now enclosed and is the Jeremy Room. Walter was 19 years old and had red hair and a beard. He allegedly does not like strong willed women as he was in an arranged marriage and I guess his wife was a real piece of work.

So I'm sitting on the back bench and the lady in the Jeremy room is asking Walter questions with the rods. she asked him if he was in the room with her last night. The rods crossed and she she said "It feels like these rods are magnetic..I cant get them apart...You ask a question." so I said "Walter if you are here can you make your presence known to us." and all of a sudden Jim shouts "Annette your k-2 meter is going nuts" so true ghost hunter that I am i started snapping pictures and I got these... they sure look like Walter to me but you be the judge. The grey one is the first one...

Paranormal Night....

Let me begin by clarifying a few things about myself before I continue. I do not consider myself to  be crazy or a "Spirit Whisperer"...I'm Italian so I'd consider myself more of a Spirit Yeller...and when I say that I mean that the very idea of a Spirit allowing me a glimpse at them is so exciting that I want to yell from the roof tops and let everyone and anyone who will listen know about it.

I was raised in a very God fearing catholic home. I went to catholic school my whole life but alas I was not a good student. I have a brother who is 11 months older than me. The Nuns used to say to my mother..."Your son is such a good student...and then there is your daughter." Not exactly a rousing seal of approval. I was not interested in history AT ALL...then I moved to Gettysburg and my lord how the tide has shifted. I now consider myself  a historian in training as well as a scientist in training, interested in the transfer of energy as well as a theologian in training ,hoping to find answers to what lies on the other side...Oh if Sister Agnes Loretta could only see me now.. it only took 45 years.

So n Friday we held a paranormal night here at the Inn. We had several guests who were staying at the Inn who participated . We were in the bookstore with Jim who is one the gentleman who conducts these investigations. He was holding the divining rods in his hands and explaining how to use them. He asked if there were any spirits in the room to point the rods to where they were. The rods pointed to a young couple who were staying in the Schultz room. So me , doing what it is that makes me - me, starts snapping pictures of this couple from behind them.

In the first picture you will see that on his sweatshirt there appears to be some type of mist. On the second picture you will notice a distinct "BLUR" to the photo. In the third photo you will see on his back what appears to be a face  with a wide brimmed hat on. I am in awe....I have noticed that out of the 400 plus pictures i took that right before something significant appeared in a photo there was a blur of energy it seems...I'm not a fashion photographer whose moving around when I take these pictures I'm standing still there should be no reason for a blur....

Sarah Black ? Mary ? You Decide...

On Monday April 14th we had a Ghost Hunt here at the Inn. One of the participants was staying in the Sarah Black room and agreed to let us investigate inside. It was about 12 am and i was sitting on the floor by the bed and was randomly snapping photos . I never checked the photos until the next day (I had to leave because I got a text message from my husband saying simply..."Are you kidding me?" I figured if I didn't want to be the next spirit inhabiting the house I better get home) As I was looking through my pictures I saw two that were absolutley astonishing to me. This was one of them. Look at the radiator and  you will notice black mist swirling around the floor and very visable is a womans face...I was awestruck. I went in the next day and took a picture of the picture (say that five times fast ) of Sarah Black hanging above the bed. I'm not sure if it is her. I had someone tell me it was a Spirit named Mary that died in the house but I'm not quite sure. I am sure that it is AWESOME!!!
