And the Undisputed Guest Room Champion of the Farnsworth House is..the McFarlane Room

 I LOVE when our guests have an experience. We had two wonderful sisters staying in the McFarlane room. They were repeat guests who were here for the 4th time within a year. The activity they experienced was without a doubt incredible. They were using a spirit box in the room with divining rods asking the spirits questions. They asked how many spirits were present in the room and the answer was one word "ENTIRE" did that mean the entire room was filled with spirits?

The ladies went to bed and the one said she felt an intense cold on her right side. Her sister was asleep so she reached for camera and started snapping pictures. By the time she took the 3rd picture she noticed the white ectoplasm which you will notice in this first photo in the lower left corner.. She took another photo and thought that if she zoomed in on the mirror that she might be able to see if something was next to her. Well as you can see in the second photo you will notice  when you zoom into the mirror there are MANY things present in the reflection but the most prominent is the figure you see with the arrow.

I Owe the McFarlane Room a HUGE Apology

I suppose just like everything else in life we choose things that our are favorites. Whether it is food, TV shows or heck even people. I think everyone who works here probably has a favorite guest room. I have always been partial to the Sweney Room and disliked the McFarlane Room. I can not give you a specific reason why I was not that fond of that guest room but I can tell you that it always felt "heavy" to me in that room Well within the last 7 days some things have occurred that have made me say "Move over Sarah Black Room their is a new sheriff in town and it's name is McFarlane" For those who might not understand the reference about the Sarah Black Room. The Sarah Black Room is thought to be the most active room at the Inn. It is the room where Jeremy died in what is now the bathroom but at the time was a nursery.. I can not dispute the activity in that room but what I have seen lately calls that of most haunted  into doubt. 

This is a very long story with two parts. I will give you part two here and part one next...backwards I know but bear with me. We had 2 sets of guests in this room in the last week who have experienced paranormal activity that I would equate as being "Off the Charts" The second couple who were in the room were showing me some videos that showed a small white christening dress that is hanging on the wall in the room. In the video the dress visibly moves apparently on its own. I will post that as soon as she sends it to me. So after saying goodbye to them I proceeded to strip the bed and begin to clean the room.

The young lady who had been staying there had taken the EMF meter and went around the perimeter of the room with it. It spiked to red in only one area of the room and that was the left hand corner of the room by the rocking chair and remained red until fully removed from that area. I took my iPhone and began snapping pictures in both corners of the room by the bed. I went about my business and went home. I sat down and began uploading the pictures to my computer and I almost fainted. 

I have never seen anything like this in my life .

On the right hand side of the bed behind the lamp is a face.

On the right side of the bed near the white christening gown was this small figure.

I can not account for the haze that is visible in this photo.

And in the corner where the EMF meter refused to go below red is one of the most incredible things I've ever see. The face in that picture frame is NOT actually in the picture.

NO DISPUTING...NO DENYING..WOW

I know I have mentioned this before but it bears repeating I simply love working here!! I am afforded awesome opportunity's at every turn to meet wonderful people and share stories and photos of paranormal experiences. We recently had two sisters here with us on there 4th visit to the Inn. They were guests in the McFarlane Room and shared this picture with me. This is taken in the garret (attic) of the Farnsworth House during a Ghost Hunt. She felt like going off by herself to investigate and  decided to sit by the window from which we believe a confederate sharpshooter fired the fatal shot at Jennie Wade. This incredible photo shows a face and what looks like a skull in the window panes as well as a rather large orb right next to her. Thank You so much for sharing this picture. It does not get much better than this!

EVP Session - Farnsworth House Cellar

As a result of all the activity as of late here at the Inn I asked Jim , one of our guides, if he would conduct an EVP session in the Cellar to see if we could connect with anyone. As we were getting started my EMF Meter was shooting up to red constantly. I began to take pictures. One of the gentleman that was with us said "I'm feeling very cold" and he was pointing to his left side. I grabbed the digital surface thermometer and pointed to his right arm and then his left arm. There was a 12 degree difference between both sides. I started snapping photos . We had some really good results with the divining rods and the mag lights. I was standing by the mirror using the rods when all of a sudden I felt an immense rush of cold air down my back. Then I heard it....whispered in my ear....ANNETTE...my name was whispered in my ear !!! I tried to remain calm and I approached Jim and handed him the rods and sat down. The session concluded shortly thereafter and I went home. My husband got up at 4:30 am to go to work and I decided to stay up and look through the photos. Some of the results are here...

This is Tony. He and his Dad were in the McFarlane room and as he was  sitting there he said he felt cold on his side. This shadow figure was seen peering out from behind the wooden beam...exactly on the side he felt the intense cold.

WHAT OR WHO IS THAT??

I work both

in the bookstore at the Farnsworth House and in the Housekeeping department. I really enjoy talking to the guests and helping to keep the Farnsworth looking great. The other day I was in the cellar and saw that the mirror really was very dirty and needed to be windexed. I proceeded to get the paper towels and clean it up. Whenever I go into a room here at the Inn to clean I always say "I'm not here to disturb you I am just going to straighten up and then i'm leaving" I took several pictures of the perimeter and went about my business. When I got home later in the evening I was sitting on my couch uploading the photos and I was stopped dead in my tracks...there was a figure standing by the door to the catacombs in the basement. I don't know who it is , or what it is and I have no logical way to explain it but i'm certainly open to ideas.Check it out

My Daughter, The Disembodied Scream and the PhotoThat Kept Me Up That Night

My 15 year old daughter is still at the age when she is okay with doing things with her old Mom . I was working my shift in the bookstore and my coworker Kathy came in and said "What tours do you you have tonight that go into the basement?" I told her the Mourning Theater at 7 pm or the Mature Tour at 11 pm. I was in no way , shape or form planning on coming back that night and then all of a sudden I blurted out "I'll come back and do it with you" I quickly went home , changed my clothes and asked my kids if they wanted to come. The only taker was Chelsea. So off we went. The Cellar of the Farnsworth House is an AWESOME place. We went to the back of the room and sat down...my daughter not wanted to be squeezed in sat in front of me. Towards the end of the hour long presentation I saw her turn around and look at me. I didn't think much of it and the tour ended. My friend Kathy's husband jumped up and approached my daughter and said "You heard that didn't you?" She shook her head yes. I said "What did you hear?" She said " A scream..like someone was being murdered. Like in a horror movie." Only 4 people out of the 15 or so down there heard it. I was pretty shaken up about it. I took several pictures and made a few stops then went home. I tried to pry information from my daughter about the scream but she tried to downplay it. Later I was sitting on my couch and decided to look at the photos I had taken. What I saw shocked and amazed me. I could not believe my eyes. There was ectoplasm surrounding my daughter and encompassing her...and the ectoplasm near her face...had a face of its own!!! I yelled for my daughter to come from her room and look at the pictures. She tried to calm me down and we proceeded to go to bed. I went to work in the morning and when I got home my daughter was awake and said "Mom were you crying last night?" I said Why would I be crying? She said we woke up at 4 am to the sound of music playing and a woman crying....Could this have something to do with all this?? I don't know but I'm being vigilante for sure from now on

There Is One Thing I Am Never,,,And That Is Speechless...That Is Until Today

I am not even sure what to say...after yesterday and looking at my photos I didn't think anything could top those. I guess that is because my limited understanding can't even grasp the awesome things going on around me sometimes that I am completely oblivious to. I was at work this morning and there were guests checking out of the Jeremy room as I was cleaning. I asked them how there night was...was there any activity? They said no..it was a quiet night. I told them I would lock the door for them because I wanted to take pictures in the room of the photo on the wall just for my own piece of mind so I knew I was seeing what I thought I saw. I went into the room and started snapping pictures..all of a sudden a saw something in the glass.... I scrolled through the pictures and I almost screamed. I ran downstairs and I was like girls you have to see this.!!!There was as PLAIN AS DAY a FACE!!! Over by the bed. And the people said it was a quiet night??? OMG so after I calmed down I went back upstairs and took a couple more pictures. This time the photo was distorted by a black mist...I didn't know what to think. I figured when I got home I would upload them and look closer. I did just that. The first 6 or so were uneventful..then I got to the 7th..and OMG there was a person on the BED!!! Check these out
